A generalized Bernoulli differential equation

open access: yesRevista de la Unión Matemática Argentina
In this paper we propose and solve a generalization of the Bernoulli Differential Equation, by means of a generalized fractional derivative. First we prove a generalization of Gronwall's inequality, which is useful for studying the stability of systems of fractional differential equations and we state results about the qualitative behavior of the ...

Compact Modeling of Volatile‐Switching Electrochemical Metallization Memory Cells by Means of the Electromotive Force

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A volatile‐switching compact model of electrochemical metallization memory cells for neuromorphic architecture is developed and validated by reliable reproduction of device characterization measurements: I−V sweeps, SET kinetics, relaxation dynamics.

Justification of design and parameters of Bernoulli–vacuum gripping device

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2017
The dynamics of the air flow between interacting surfaces of Bernoulli–vacuum gripping device and object of manipulation is analysed. The methods of increasing lifting capacity in given devices are presented.

BS\Delta Es and BSDEs with non-Lipschitz drivers: Comparison, convergence and robustness

open access: yes, 2013
We provide existence results and comparison principles for solutions of backward stochastic difference equations (BS$\Delta$Es) and then prove convergence of these to solutions of backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs) when the mesh size of ...

OriGrasp: A Multifunctional Origami‐Inspired Instrument for Delicate Manipulation in Abdominal Surgery

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This paper introduces an origami‐inspired, lightweight, reconfigurable instrument for robot‐assisted minimally invasive surgery. Its foldable design enables tiny access, tunable compliance, and multifunctionality, serving as a tool introducer or deformable grasper that safely manipulates delicate bowel tissue.

Tail probabilities for infinite series of regularly varying random vectors

open access: yes, 2008
A random vector $X$ with representation $X=\sum_{j\geq0}A_jZ_j$ is considered. Here, $(Z_j)$ is a sequence of independent and identically distributed random vectors and $(A_j)$ is a sequence of random matrices, `predictable' with respect to the sequence $

Scalable High‐Force Zipping Electrostatic Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An electrostatic actuator architecture is presented that combines high energy density with forces and strokes suited for wearable soft robotics. By folding patterned thin films into a scalable honeycomb of zipping units, performance becomes tunable through series–parallel design, achieving over 40 N and 28 J/kg.

$L_2$-variation of L\'{e}vy driven BSDEs with non-smooth terminal conditions

open access: yes, 2016
We consider the $L_2$-regularity of solutions to backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs) with Lipschitz generators driven by a Brownian motion and a Poisson random measure associated with a L\'{e}vy process $(X_t)_{t\in[0,T]}$.

Digital Surface‐Enhanced Raman Scattering With Event Counting and Spectrum Learning for Label‐Free Protein Quantification

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A statistical and machine learning‐assisted surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) framework is developed for label‐free quantification of low‐abundance analytes, including proteins. Combining digital SERS event counting with binomial regression and an artificial neural network (ANN) trained on full spectra, the approach achieves picomolar detection ...

Solving Fuzzy Volterra Integrodifferential Equations of Fractional Order by Bernoulli Wavelet Method

open access: yesAdvances in Fuzzy Systems, 2018
A matrix method called the Bernoulli wavelet method is presented for numerically solving the fuzzy fractional integrodifferential equations. Using the collocation points, this method transforms the fuzzy fractional integrodifferential equation to a ...
