On wavelet type Bernstein operators

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2023
This paper deals with construction and studying wavelet type Bernstein operators by using the compactly supported Daubechies wavelets of the given function $f$.

Bernstein-type characterization of entire functions

open access: yesReports of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 2023
Let ε be the set of all entire functions on the complex plane C. Let us consider the class XE of all complex Banach spaces X such that X ⊇ ε . For (X, ⎥⎥ ⋅ ⎥⎥)∈XE and g ∈X we write En, X (g ) = inf {⎥⎥ g − p⎥⎥: p∈Πn }, where Πn is the set of all polynomials with degree at most n.

Classes of completely monotone and Bernstein functions defined by convexity properties of their spectral measures

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
We were interested in Bernstein and Lévy measures having certain convexity-type properties. The convexity-type properties were an extension of the harmonic convexity property considered in [9].

Some approximation properties of ( p , q ) $(p,q)$ -Bernstein operators

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2016
This paper is concerned with the ( p , q ) $(p,q)$ -analog of Bernstein operators. It is proved that, when the function is convex, the ( p , q ) $(p,q)$ -Bernstein operators are monotonic decreasing, as in the classical case.

Moment problems related to Bernstein functions [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales de la Faculté des sciences de Toulouse : Mathématiques, 2020
We give a simple proof of the moment-indeterminacy on the half-line of the sequence (n!) t for t>2, using Lin’s condition. Under a logarithmic self-decomposability assumption, the method conveys to power moment sequences defined as the rising factorials of a given Bernstein function, and to more general infinitely divisible moment sequences.

Monotonicity properties for a ratio of finite many gamma functions

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2020
In the paper, the authors consider a ratio of finite many gamma functions and find its monotonicity properties such as complete monotonicity, the Bernstein function property, and logarithmically complete monotonicity.

Sharp bounds on the survival function of exchangeable min-stable multivariate exponential sequences

open access: yesDependence Modeling
We derive lower and upper bounds for the survival function of an exchangeable sequence of random variables, for which the scaled minimum of each finite subgroup has a univariate exponential distribution.

Applications of mixed finite element method based on Bernstein polynomials in numerical solution of Stokes equations

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
The Stokes equation is fundamental in fluid mechanics. We used bivariate Bernstein polynomial bases to construct the function space for mixed finite element methods to solve the 2D Stokes equation.
