The third-stage (L3) larvae of Anisakis, which are the etiological agents of human anisakiasis, have been categorized morphologically into Anisakis Type I larvae and Anisakis Type II larvae. Genetic analysis has allowed easy identification of these larvae: Anisakis Type I larvae include the species Anisakis simplex sensu stricto, Anisakis pegreffii ...

Abstract Oxygen and carbon isotopes were measured by mass spectrometry from gasified samples drilled out along the nucleus-to-dorsal growth axes of 11 sagittal otoliths of Beryx splendens and one otolith of Coryphaenoides profundicolus. Oxygen and carbon isotope variability was high along the growth axes of the sagittal otoliths of both B.

Age and growth of alfonsino Beryx splendens in the waters around the Izu Islands
Fisheries Science, 2000SUMMARY: This paper estimates the age and growth of the alfonsino Beryx splendens in the waters around the Izu Islands off the Pacific side of Japan. The samples consist of 250 fish of the landings of the offshore longliners from December 1995 to November 1996 and 10 fish of the coastal longliners in February of 1995.

Age and growth of the alfonsino Beryx splendens over the seamounts off New Caledonia
Marine Biology, 1996Age and growth of the alfonsino Beryx splendens from New Caledonia seamounts were determined by examination of whole and sectioned otoliths. One growth-ring (annulus) in the otoliths appears to be laid down each year. It consists of one opaque (summer, fast-growing) zone and one hyaline (winter, slowgrowing) zone.
