BEPCII AND BESIII

The Beijing Electron Collider has been upgraded (BEPCII) to a two-ring collider with a design luminosity of 1 × 1033 cm -2 s -1 at a center-of-mass energy of 3.78 GeV. It will operate between 2 and 4.6 GeV in the center of mass. With this luminosity, the BESIII detector will be able to collect, for example, 10 billion J/ψ events in one year of running.

Semileptonic Transition of Tensor χc2(1P) to Ds Meson

Taking into account the two‐gluon condensate corrections, the transition form factors of the semileptonic χc2→Dsl-ν(l=e,μ) decay channel are calculated via three‐point QCD sum rules. These form factors are used to estimate the decay width of the transition under consideration in both electron and muon channels.

Identification of deuterons at BESIII*

Abstract The identification of deuterons with momenta in the range of 0.52−0.72 GeV/c is studied with specific ionization energy loss information using a data sample collected by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.009 and 4.946 GeV. Clean deuteron samples are selected using time of flight information.

Strange quarkonium states at BESIII [PDF]

We present physics opportunities and topics with the $s\bar{s}$ states (strangeonia) that can be studied with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. Though the $ϕ$ and $η/η^\prime$ states have long been established experimentally, only a handful of strangeonia are well known, in contrast to the rich $c\bar{c}$ charmoium system.

X(1870) and η2(1870): Which Can Be Assigned as a Hybrid State?

The mass spectrum and strong decays of the X(1870) and η2(1870) are analyzed. Our results indicate that X(1870) and η2(1870) are the two different resonances. The narrower X(1870) seems likely a good hybrid candidate. We support the η2(1870) as the η2(21D2) quarkonium. We suggest to search the isospin partner of X(1870) in the channels of J/ψ⟶ρf0(980)π
