Geometric perspective of generalized Bessel function

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications
In this study, we extend and refine several results concerning the geometric properties of generalized Bessel functions established by Á. Baricz (Mathematica 48(71):1318, 2006).

A Dual‐Frequency Sensitivity Model for Optical Fibre Ultrasonic Sensors in Power Transformer Partial Discharge Detection

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The detection of partial discharges (PD) on the power transformer tank demands higher sensitivity in ultrasonic detection. To target the detection frequency band for sensor optimisation and enhance sensitivity, this paper presents a dual‐frequency sensitivity model for optical fibre ultrasonic sensors.

Radiation of piezoelectric rings into the air through cylindrical waveguides

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2014
In the paper the results of the investigations of the radiation of piezoelectric rings into the air through solid (e.g. glass, plexiglass, aluminium) cylinders are presented. The obtained radiation patterns approximate Bessel distribution. In the case of

On the fractional Laplace-Bessel operator

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
In this paper, we propose a novel approach to the fractional power of the Laplace-Bessel operator $ \Delta_{\nu} $, defined as$ \Delta_{\nu} = \sum\limits_{i = 1}^{n}\frac{\partial^2}{\partial x_{i}^2} + \frac{\nu_i}{x_{i}}\frac{\partial}{\partial x_{i}}

Zebrafish models of developmental epileptic encephalopathy accurately reflect clinical electrographic biomarkers

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Developmental epileptic encephalopathies (DEEs) are epilepsy conditions characterized by significant severity and treatment challenges. Spectral components of the encephalogram (EEG) may provide a valuable biomarker of epileptic severity.

Efficient computation of Fourier–Bessel transforms for transverse-momentum dependent parton distributions and other functions

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We present a method for the numerical computation of Fourier–Bessel transforms on a finite or infinite interval. The function to be transformed needs to be evaluated on a grid of points that is independent of the argument of the Bessel function.

Tracking the Epistemic Harms of Marital Rape: The Case for Experiential Injustice

open access: yesJournal of Applied Philosophy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Empirical studies suggest that rape in marriages continues to be treated as a less severe crime than other forms of rape. Although the psychological and legal dimensions of marital rape have received some attention, its epistemic harms remain under‐theorised.

Regional cerebellar structural deficits distinguish psychostimulant‐free ADHD youth with and without familial risk for bipolar I disorder: a cross‐sectional morphometric analysis

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, EarlyView.
Background Although attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) with familial risk for bipolar I disorder (BD) may represent a more severe illness conferring greater risk for developing BD, associated neurostructural substrates remain poorly understood.
