Spatially Periodic Solutions for Evolution Anisotropic Variable‐Coefficient Navier–Stokes Equations: II. Serrin‐Type Solutions

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 48, Issue 12, Page 11592-11619, August 2025.
ABSTRACT We consider evolution (nonstationary) space‐periodic solutions to the n$$ n $$‐dimensional nonlinear Navier–Stokes equations of anisotropic fluids with the viscosity coefficient tensor variable in space and time and satisfying the relaxed ellipticity condition.

Dispersion of Lamb Waves From the 2022 Hunga Tonga–Hunga Ha'apai Volcanic Eruption Reveals Coupling Between Lower and Upper Atmospheric Layers

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 14, 28 July 2025.
Abstract Atmospheric Lamb waveforms are useful for reconstructing large air events, but the propagation of Lamb waves is significantly affected by varying atmospheric conditions. The detailed dispersion of Lamb waves remains vague due to lack of data, but also to simplifications inherent in existing models.

Control Variates Method to Estimate Stochastic Buckling Loads

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 126, Issue 13, 15 July 2025.
ABSTRACT Buckling is the most significant failure mode for thin‐walled structures. In particular, geometric imperfections have a major influence on the buckling behavior. These spatially correlated imperfections are inherently random and can be modeled using random fields.

Real‐Time Characterization of Polypropylene Jet Dynamics in Melt Electrospinning Using Laser Diffraction and Image Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 13, July 2025.
This study uses real‐time laser diffraction image analysis to quantify fiber diameter changes and whipping behavior from the nozzle to the collector under varying electric field conditions. By capturing diffraction (scattering) intensity changes and bending angles, melt jet and whipping behavior are accurately assessed, supporting melt electrospinning ...
