Litescale: A Lightweight Tool for Best-worst Scaling Annotation
Best-worst Scaling (BWS) is a methodology for annotation based on comparing and ranking instances, rather than classifying or scoring individual instances. Studies have shown the efficacy of this methodology applied to NLP tasks in terms of a higher quality of the datasets produced by following it.

A Best–Worst Scaling preferenciaértékelő eljárás „object” esetének bemutatása
A fogyasztói preferenciák vizsgálatához alkalmazott eljárás megválasztása még manapság is rendkívül nehéz döntést képvisel a kutatásokban. A feltárt preferencia (SP) jellegű adatokon alapuló módszerek használatakor a kutatók elsődleges célja az, hogy minél eredményesebben tudják csökkentetni a hipotetikus kontextus okozta torzító hatást, mindemellett ...

Dynamics of Multi-Player Games [PDF]
We analyze the dynamics of competitions with a large number of players. In our model, n players compete against each other and the winner is decided based on the standings: in each competition, the mth ranked player wins. We solve for the long time limit

We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Estimation of a preference based single index from the sexual quality of life questionnaire (SQOL) using ordinal data [PDF]
There is increasing interest in using ordinal methods to estimate cardinal values for health states to calculate quality adjusted life years. This paper reports the estimation of models of rank data and discrete choice experiment (DCE) data to derive a ...

Comparing the performance of FA, DFA and DMA using different synthetic long-range correlated time series [PDF]
Notwithstanding the significant efforts to develop estimators of long-range correlations (LRC) and to compare their performance, no clear consensus exists on what is the best method and under which conditions.

Patterns of Postictal Abnormalities in Relation to Status Epilepticus in Adults
ABSTRACT Objective Abnormalities on peri‐ictal diffusion‐weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI‐PMAs) are well‐established for patients with status epilepticus (SE), but knowledge on patterns of DWI‐PMAs and their prognostic impact is sparse. Methods This systematic review and individual participant data meta‐analysis included observational studies ...
