Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Weighted Moments Estimators of the Parameters for the Extreme Value Distribution Based on the Multiply Type II Censored Sample

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2013
We propose the weighted moments estimators (WMEs) of the location and scale parameters for the extreme value distribution based on the multiply type II censored sample.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Systematic bias of selected estimates applied in vertical displacement analysis

open access: yesJournal of Geodetic Science, 2020
In surveying problems we almost always use unbiased estimators; however, even unbiased estimator might yield biased assessments, which is due to data.

Best Linear Unbiased Estimators for Repeated Surveys

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1980
Summary Recent work on the problem of obtaining best linear unbiased estimators from a sample survey which is repeated on several occasions has centred on the effects of extending the model assumptions to allow for stochastic variation in the parameters being estimated.

Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.

PENDUGAAN PARAMETER REGRESI ROBUST METODE MINIMUM COVARIANCE DETERMINANT DAN METODE TELBS

open access: yesE-Jurnal Matematika, 2023
The parameter estimator on the regression model can be obtained through the ordinary least square (OLS). When there are outliers in the data, OLS cannot be applied because it will produce an unbiased estimator that is not the best linear estimator ...

Discovery and Targeted Proteomic Studies Reveal Striatal Markers Validated for Huntington's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Clinical trials for Huntington's disease (HD) enrolling persons before clinical motor diagnosis (CMD) lack validated biomarkers. This study aimed to conduct an unbiased discovery analysis and a targeted examination of proteomic biomarkers scrutinized by clinical validation. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid was obtained from PREDICT‐HD and

On Moments of Inverse Kumaraswamy Distribution Based on Progressive Type-II Censored Order Statistics

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA)
Daghistani et al. (Pak J Stat Oper Res 989–997, 2019) introduced and investigated the properties of the new inverse Kumaraswamy distribution. This distribution has numerous applications in various fields, including life testing, biology, and medicine ...

Mean squared error of empirical predictor

open access: yes, 2004
The term ``empirical predictor'' refers to a two-stage predictor of a linear combination of fixed and random effects. In the first stage, a predictor is obtained but it involves unknown parameters; thus, in the second stage, the unknown parameters are ...
