ANALYSIS OF TIME-ZONE RELATIONSHIP TO EPHEMERIS DATA RETRIEVAL IN CALCULATING THE BEGINNING OF JEMBRANA-BANYUWANGI PRAYER TIMES

open access: yesAl-Hilal
The calculation of prayer times in Bali and Banyuwangi Regency often needs to be clarified. Hasib suggests Bali's prayer time calculations could refer to those in Banyuwangi due to their close astronomical coordinates.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

I-BET-762 treatment suppresses AHR and inflammatory cell infiltration in RSV-induced exacerbation.

open access: yes, 2016
BALB/c mice were sensitised i.p with OVA or PBS plus alum on day 0 and exposed to OVA aerosol on days 13–16. Some mice were inoculated with RSV on day 19 and treated with I-BET-762 or vehicle (hydroxyl-β cyclodextrin) i.v twice on day 23.

Lifetime Prediction of Polymers: To Bet, or Not to Bet—Is This the Question? [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2018
Polymers are a great and very important category of organic compounds that have changed our lifestyle. In the last eighty years, we have used them for the most varied applications, and from the first structural ones we began to investigate their durability, which can be fatal in the successful completion of the application for which the material was ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus specific antibodies in naturally exposed Israeli llamas, alpacas and camels

open access: yesOne Health, 2018
Thus far, no human MERS-CoV infections have been reported from Israel. Evidence for the circulation of MERS-CoV in dromedaries has been reported from almost all the countries of the Middle East, except Israel.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Artificial diet for two flat-headed borers, Capnodis spp. (Coleoptera: Buprestidae)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Entomology, 2009
The main objective was to develop an artificial diet for two flat-headed borers, Capnodis tenebrionis L. and C. carbonaria Klug. (Coleoptera: Buprestidae), which are severe pests of stonefruit plantations in the Mediterranean basin.
