Beta-endorphin in granulocytes.

Cell biology international, 2003
The literature indicates that beta-endorphin can be found in the mononuclear cells of peripheral blood. In the present experiments the endorphin content of granulocytes was studied, compared to lymphocytes as reference cells. Granulocytes as well, as lymphocytes contain endorphin. The granulocytes' endorphin content is much higher. Both lymphocytes and

Beta-Endorphins in Autoimmune Diseases

Journal of Pharmaceutical Research & Reports, 2022
Beta-endorphin is an abundant endorphin synthesized and stored in the anterior pituitary gland and its µ receptors are present on immune cells and nervous system. Autoimmune diseases are increasing now days because of psychological stress induced release of stress releasing hormones such as cortisol, adrenaline, noradrenaline, ACTH activate ...

Beta-endorphins in essential blepharospasm

Neuro-Ophthalmology, 1994
The effect of the administration of adrenergic and serotoninergic substances on beta-endorphins was evaluated in four patients with essential blepharospasm. The lack of beta-endorphin release following administration of adrenergic agents demonstrated that this aminergic action on the hypothalamus-pituitary adrenal axis is modified in the presence of ...

[Biosynthesis of beta-endorphin].

Bulletin der Schweizerischen Akademie der Medizinischen Wissenschaften, 1978
We have demonstrated that beta-lipotropin is a precursor molecule and that during its maturation, it gives rise to beta-endorphin. This model is similar to proinsulin, proparathyroid hormone and proglucagon models. Since beta-endorphin is also found in the hypothalamus, one can foresee that its biosynthesis will be similar if not identical.

Human placental beta-endorphin.

Gynecologic and obstetric investigation, 1980
Human acid-acetone placental powder (PP) has corticotrophin-like and beta-endorphin(beta-EP)-like activity. In a beta-EP radioimmunoassay the PP showed a potency of 4.82 ng/mg protein. In Sephadex G-75 filtration and high pressure liquid chromatography, the beta-EP-like activity of PP was found in the corresponding chromatographic fractions as standard

Beta-endorphin in silent duodenal ulcer.

European journal of gastroenterology & hepatology, 1995
To investigate whether duodenal ulcer patients with painful active peptic ulcer and those with silent active ulceration have different plasma beta-endorphin levels.Forty-five patients (28 men and 17 women), aged 38-50 years, with at least a 5-year history of duodenal ulceration.

Beta-Endorphin im Liquor Cerebrospinalis

1980
