[Maternal beta-endorphin secretion during pregnancy--measurement of immunoreactive beta-endorphin in urine].

Nihon Sanka Fujinka Gakkai zasshi, 1986
Gestational variations in maternal beta-endorphin (beta-end) secretion were investigated by simultaneous measurements of plasma and urinary immunoreactive beta-endorphin (ir-beta-end). Urinary ir-beta-end was extracted by using a Sep-Pak C18 column and was found to be stable for at least 24 hours at room temperature. Plasma and urine (2 hour collection)

[Beta-endorphin and obesity. Possible pathogenetic implications].

Minerva endocrinologica, 1990
Several experimental data have documented the ability of both opiates and opioid peptides to stimulate food intake. On the other hand, the plasma beta-endorphin levels found in obese patients are higher than those observed in normal-weight controls, which may have pathogenetic implications. We have investigated the responses of plasma glucose, insulin,

beta-Endorphin 61-91 and other beta-endorphin-immunoreactive peptides in human semen.

The Journal of clinical endocrinology and metabolism, 1981
Human semen contains large amounts of authentic beta-endorphin and other beta-endorphin immunoreactive peptides. To eliminate the non-specific effects of semen in the beta-endorphin RIA, the beta-endorphin immunoreactive peptides were extracted with octadecylsilane-C18 reverse phase beads.

ACTH-beta-endorphin in pregnancy.

Clinics in perinatology, 1984
Following a discussion of recent findings in the physiology of opioid peptides, this article discusses the actions of beta-endorphin and its related peptides in the pregnant woman and in the fetus.
