Four new generalizations of the standard beta distribution are introduced. Various properties are derived for each distribution, including its hazard rate function and moments.

The beta modified Weibull distribution
Lifetime Data Analysis, 2010A five-parameter distribution so-called the beta modified Weibull distribution is defined and studied. The new distribution contains, as special submodels, several important distributions discussed in the literature, such as the generalized modified Weibull, beta Weibull, exponentiated Weibull, beta exponential, modified Weibull and Weibull ...

Multivariate Distributions which have Beta Conditional Distributions
Journal of the American Statistical Association, 1975Abstract Distributions having beta conditional distributions arise in connection with the generation of distributions for random proportions which do not necessarily possess neutrality properties (see [3]). The family of bivariate distributions for which both conditional distributions are beta is evaluated, and some multivariate extensions are briefly ...

Some Bimatrix Beta Distributions
Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2012We propose three new bimatrix beta distributions based on a reproductive property with respect to the distribution of the product of beta random matrices. We derive various representations for their joint densities, product moments, conditional densities, and conditional moments.

Some bivariate beta distributions
Statistics, 2005We introduce three new bivariate beta distributions based on a characterizing property, involving products of beta random variables. We derive various representations for their joint densities, product moments, conditional densities and conditional moments.

Discrete Beta-Exponential Distribution
Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2013There are not many known distributions for modeling discrete data. In this paper, we shall introduce a discrete analogue of the beta-exponential distribution of Nadarajah and Kotz (2006), which is more plausible in modeling discrete data and exhibits both increasing and decreasing hazard rates.

Two generalized beta distributions
Applied Economics, 2007Two new distributions which contain several of the known generalizations of the beta distribution as particular cases are introduced. Various structural properties of each distribution are derived, including its cdf, moment generating function, characteristic function, moments, mean deviation about the mean, mean deviation about the median, entropy ...
