Investigating the Role of Alpha and Beta Rhythms in Functional Motor Networks
Neuroscience, 2018It is recognized that lower electroencephalography (EEG) frequencies correspond to distributed brain activity over larger spatial regions than higher frequencies and are associated with coordination. In motor processes it has been suggested that this is not always the case. Our objective was to explore this contradiction.

Diurnal rhythm of beta-endorphin in neonates.
Developmental pharmacology and therapeutics, 1989In an attempt to prove whether beta-endorphin diurnal rhythm existed in neonates, 17 infants with a mean (+/- SD) gestational age of 31.7 +/- 4.8 weeks and a birth weight of 1,790 +/- 898 g were studied at a mean postnatal age of 3.3 +/- 0.5 days. Plasma samples were obtained from a pre-existing umbilical arterial line at 09.00 h, noon and 15.00 h ...

Circadian rhythms of beta-endorphin in the aged.
Zeitschrift fur Gerontologie, 1986A circadian rhythm for beta-endorphin was observed by means of the cosinor method in aged subjects. The rhythm mesor is a little lower but its amplitude is more extended than in young subjects. The confidence intervals of the acrophases of the two groups are superimposable with a timing in the morning.

Co-Maturation of Theta and Low-beta Rhythms During Child Development
Brain Topography, 2014The present report examines a possible co-maturation pattern between different frequency ranges on the spontaneous electroencephalogram (EEG) during development in childhood, adolescence and young adulthood. One hundred and sixty-seven subjects, between 6 and 26 years old were recorded during 3 min of spontaneous EEG.

Circadian rhythm of beta-glucuronidase.
Experientia, 1980The circadian rhythm of rat liver beta-glucuronidase has been studied in animals kept under highly standardized laboratory condition. A clear 24 h rhythm has been observed for this enzyme with a peak activity at 01.00 h and a trough at 13.00 h.

[Application of beta-rhythm quantification to the treatment of epilepsy].
Revue d'electroencephalographie et de neurophysiologie clinique, 1984Abundance of beta activity in epileptic patients under clonazepam (Rivotril) treatment shows a significant correlation with the suppression of epileptic seizures and/or of epileptic EEG activity such as spikes and spike/wave complexes. In a longitudinal two-year study in 21 children with severe epilepsy treated with clonazepam, relative spectral peak ...
