Microtubule depolymerization limits porcine betacoronavirus PHEV replication

Veterinary Microbiology, 2022
Porcine hemagglutinating encephalomyelitis virus (PHEV) is a typical neurotropic betacoronavirus causing digestive disease and/or neurological dysfunction in neonatal pigs. Actin filaments have been identified to implicate in PHEV invasion, but the effects of viral infection on microtubules (MTs) cytoskeleton are unknown.

First Molecular Evidence for Bat Betacoronavirus in Mindanao

Philippine Journal of Science, 2019
Coronaviruses (CoVs) are common agents of respiratory and gastrointestinal tract infections but are also considered as important emerging infectious disease (EID) agents that have led to global epidemics of severe respiratory disease. Human CoV EIDs have been proposed to have originated from bat CoVs (BtCoV).

Determining the Stability of Human Betacoronavirus OC43 on Different Surfaces

The FASEB Journal, 2022
Scientists continue to study SARS‐CoV‐2, the virus currently responsible for a worldwide pandemic, to determine the best methods to inactivate the virus on surfaces and reduce the risk of contact transmission. Its classification as a Biosafety Level (BSL) ‐3 pathogen complicates research since few facilities have the capacity for this level of ...
