Evaluation of Contact Stress and Fatigue Life for Roller Crowning Profiles in Triple Roller Pitch Bearings

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the contact stress and rating life of a three‐row pitch bearing for wind turbines, considering the effects of roller crowning. All crowning profiles were logarithmic, and a total of six profiles were examined based on the Romax, ISO 16281, and Fujiwara equations.

Efficient Harvesting of Irregular and Low‐Frequency Mechanical Energy via Hybridized Electromagnetic‐Triboelectric Systems

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 39, 13 July 2026.
ABSTRACT The rapid expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) and wearable electronics necessitates sustainable power sources to replace the limited electrochemical battery. While mechanical energy harvesting offers a promising solution, traditional harvesters face challenges of irregular and low−frequency environmental sources. This review presents the

A Nanoparticle‐Integrated Complete Manufacturing Pipeline of Chemically Engineered Exosomes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 32, 9 June 2026.
We report a novel manufacture technology of chemically engineered exosomes. The four steps of manufacturing, i.e., biogenesis, loading, isolation, and storage, are integrated by the use of a nanoparticle. The manufacture technology incorporates three innovative components, i.e., a new nano‐bio effect, a new composite nanoparticle, and a new isolation ...

An autonomous and economical benthic incubation chamber for measuring dissolved oxygen fluxes in shallow, low‐flow environments

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, Volume 24, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Benthic incubation chambers enclose a known volume of water overlying a known area to measure water chemistry changes and are typically used to quantify the metabolic activity of benthic organisms or communities. Here we present an economical benthic incubation chamber for shallow, low‐flow environments, built using off‐the‐shelf components ...

INFLUENCE OF ASSEMBLY ERRORS OF BEVEL GEAR PAIR ON THE MESH QUALITY [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Journal of Silesian University of Technology. Series Transport, 2014
The paper describes the influence of bevel gears assembly errors on the resulting contact pattern, which is an essential parameter for the mesh, both in the design and control of the transmission.

Development of Heat Engines Powered by Twisted and Coiled Polymer Fiber Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 8, 17 April 2026.
Continuously rotating engines driven by thermally responsive actuating materials can turn waste heat into useful energy. For the first time heat engines operated by twisted and coiled polymer fiber actuators are demonstrated with engine design guided by two simple analytical models.

The Lubrication of Bevel Gears

open access: yesBulletin of JSME, 1964
In bevel gears, the behaviours of the oil in the gear box differ from those in spur gears, presenting conditions worse than the latter. In this paper, the mechanisms of the oil being supplied to the tooth surface and of the oil film formation between the teeth surfaces of pinion and gear are investigated.

Automated Benchmarking of Variable‐Property Soft Robotic Fingertips to Enable Task‐Optimized Sensor Selection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 15, 13 March 2026.
Sensorized fingertips are needed to unlock robotic dexterity, versatility, and diverse interactions. Here, 15 identically‐shaped robotic fingertips are benchmarked by a fully automated toolchange system, covering eight different materials and six broadly‐ranging sensing mechanisms.
