Storm events influence the transport of macroplastics in urban streams [PDF]
Water Environ ResWe found higher rates of macroplastic (particles > 5 mm) transport rate in urban streams during storms relative to baseflow. Transport was related to storm size. Results will improve predictive models of macroplastic transport and inform policies to reduce macroplastic pollution. Abstract Plastic litter is a globally pervasive pollutant.
