Wide variation in hydraulic safety margins across and within southern Amazon forests

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 5, May 2026.
Site‐specific conditions and species identity were the main drivers of variation in Ψdry and HSM50 in southern Amazonian trees, but played a weaker role in explaining Ψ50. Ψpredawn strongly predicted HSM50. Across the Amazon, Ψ50_CWM and Ψdry_CWM became more negative with increasing MCWD, whereas HSM50_CWM showed no significant relationship with MCWD ...

Exploring how men's physical activity behaviour changes during and after the Australian Fans‐In‐Training (Aussie‐FIT) program: A qualitative study using the theoretical domains framework

open access: yesBritish Journal of Health Psychology, Volume 31, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract Objectives Sufficient physical activity (PA) reduces the risk of chronic disease. In Australia, men experience higher rates of overweight, obesity and cardiovascular disease than women. Gender‐sensitized PA interventions like Australian Fans‐In‐Training (Aussie‐FIT) leverage men's interest in sport to promote behaviour change and have shown ...

‘I Do Not Feel Great About It, but It Was the Logical Decision’—An Exploration of Why England's Agency Social Workers Have Left Permanent Child Protection Roles

open access: yesChild &Family Social Work, Volume 31, Issue 2, Page 977-987, May 2026.
ABSTRACT In 2023, England's statutory children's services recorded the highest number of agency social workers since records began. The cost of these workers, and the impact of an unsettled workforce on the children in receipt of their services, has led to a new set of national rules for agency social workers in children's social care.

Association of Acute Ischemic Stroke Volume With Post‐Stroke Epilepsy Development

open access: yesJournal of Neuroimaging, Volume 36, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Purpose Stroke is a leading cause of epilepsy, especially in older adults. The SeLECT score remains the standard among post‐stroke epilepsy (PSE) prediction tools. However, its broader validation is limited by the need to manually extract neuroimaging predictors (cortical and middle cerebral artery [MCA] involvement). Unlike the

Coupled Coincidence Point Theorems for Nonlinear Contractions in Partially Ordered Quasi-Metric Spaces with a Q-Function

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2011
Using the concept of a mixed g-monotone mapping, we prove some coupled coincidence and coupled common fixed point theorems for nonlinear contractive mappings in partially ordered complete quasi-metric spaces with a Q-function q.
