Synergistic Action of DDT and BHC Combined Sprays

Nature, 1951
DDT and BHC have so far been applied separately in malaria control programmes. In order to find out how these two insecticides will behave in a combined spray, experiments were carried out both in the laboratory and in the field. A combined spray containing 25 mgm. DDT and 5 mgm.

BHC induced testicular impairments in rats.

Indian journal of physiology and pharmacology, 1991
Benzene hexachloride (BHC) was fed to mature male rats weighing 160 g at dosages of 3 and 6 mg/kg body weight over a period of 180 days. Significant decrease in testicular weight and degeneration of seminiferous tubules with deformed spermatogenic cells were noted at a dose of 6 mg/kg BHC. Marked increase in BHC residue in testis revealed that the drug

SSSs as progenitors of the BHCs

2007
In contrast to white dwarfs, neutron stars with near companions can get surrounded by massive accretion disks when their donor stars transfer matter at a greater-than-Eddington rate for sufficiently long. When the disk gets massive, the system will successively pass through the stages of super-Eddington (SES) and/or supersoft (SSS), and end up as a ...
