Angled decompositions of arborescent link complements

open access: yes, 2006
This paper describes a way to subdivide a 3-manifold into angled blocks, namely polyhedral pieces that need not be simply connected. When the individual blocks carry dihedral angles that fit together in a consistent fashion, we prove that a manifold ...

On m-bi-interior ideals of an ordered semigroup

open access: yes, 2022
In this article, we concurrently explore the class of m-bi-ideals as well as the class of m- interior ideals in an ordered semigroup. We call these class of ideals as m-bi-interior ideals. Here, m-simple, m-regular ordered semigroups and their various subclasses get characterized in diverse manners as per their m-bi-interior ideals.

A Hesitant Fuzzy Set Approach to Ideal Theory in Γ-Semigroups

open access: yesAdvances in Fuzzy Systems, 2018
We apply the hesitant fuzzy sets theory to Γ-semigroups and provide some characterizations of hesitant fuzzy left (right and bi-) ideals. We introduce the hesitant fuzzy left (resp., right and two-sided) ideal, hesitant fuzzy bi-ideal, and hesitant fuzzy

Interval-valued fuzzy ideals generated by an interval-valued fuzzy subset in ordered semigroups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, we de ne the concept of interval-valued fuzzy left (right, two sided, interior, bi-) ideal in ordered semigroups. We show that the interval- valued fuzzy subset J is an interval-valued fuzzy left (right, two sided, interior, bi ...

Quantum Traces in Quantum Teichm\"uller Theory

open access: yes, 2008
We prove that for the torus with one hole and p greater than or equal to 1 punctures and the sphere with four holes there is a family of quantum trace functions in the quantum Teichm\"uller space, analog to the non-quantum trace functions in Teichm ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Short Koszul modules

open access: yes, 2010
This article is concerned with graded modules M with linear resolutions over a standard graded algebra R. It is proved that if such an M has Hilbert series $H_M(s)$ of the form $ps^d+qs^{d+1}$, then the algebra R is Koszul; if, in addition, M has ...

Dynamic Testing of Cold Gas Sprayed Bipolar Plates–Porous Transport Layer Coating System in Proton Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Through direct application of porous transport layer (PTL) on the bipolar plate (BPP) with thermal spraying, the interfacial contact resistance is improved. With the cold gas sprayed BPP–PTL coating system, a proton exchange membrane water electrolysis cell with a cell voltage of Ucell = 1.9 V can be operated up to i = 2.5 A/cm2 in a dynamic mode ...

Soft Intersection Bi-interior Ideals of Semigroups

open access: yesJournal of Innovative Science and Engineering (JISE)
Generalizing the ideals of an algebraic structure has shown to be both beneficial and interesting for mathematicians. In this context, the idea of the bi-interior ideal was introduced as a generalization of the bi-ideal and interior ideal of a semigroup.

Cannon-Thurston Maps for Kleinian Groups

open access: yes, 2017
We show that Cannon-Thurston maps exist for degenerate free groups without parabolics, i.e. for handlebody groups. Combining these techniques with earlier work proving the existence of Cannon-Thurston maps for surface groups, we show that Cannon-Thurston
