Texture Formation in The Bi-System Superconductor

1994
The powder-in-tube method was used to produce Ag-sheathed samples from two precursor methods to study the texture formation of the 2223 superconducting phase in Bi-system tapes. Experimental results showed that the texture of the 2223 phase has contributions both from growth and processing.

Thermodynamic Assessment of Actinide-Cd or Bi Systems

Journal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 2002
The Gibbs energy of mixing in liquid phase and the Gibbs energy of formation of various compounds in a binary Pu-Cd system were re-optimized by applying both recent and earlier experimental data. Those of the binary Pu-Bi and U-Bi systems were newly optimized.

Glass transformation studies in Ge-Se-Bi system

Glass Physics and Chemistry, 2007
The thermal behavior of bulk glasses in the Ge20Se80 − x Bi x (x = 2.5, 4.0, 6.0 at %) system is studied using modulated differential scanning calorimetry (MDSC). All samples have the same thermal history as a result of heating to a temperature above the glass transition point, equilibrating, and then ...

Thermodynamic assessment of the Ag–Au–Bi system

Calphad, 2007
Abstract The Ag–Au–Bi system has been thermodynamically assessed through the Calphad approach by combining recently derived experimental data, in particular the phase diagram equilibria and the integral enthalpies of mixing of its liquid phase. A good agreement is obtained between the calculation and the experimental data.

The In5Bi3 phase in the In-Bi system

Journal of Crystal Growth, 1985
Abstract In5Bi3 single crystals were grown by a zone melting procedure. The homogeneity region of In5Bi3 is deduced from metallographic examination of these crystals and also from some other In-Bi compositions before and after annealing. Residual resistivities of the crystals for several different annealing procedures are reported.

Planar SNS Josephson junctions using multilayer Bi system

SPIE Proceedings, 1991
Planar S/N/S Josephson junctions were successfully fabricated by multi-layered thin films of Bi-based high-Tc oxide superconductors. Two Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O(x) films and Bi2Sr2Cu1O(y) film were successively layered as superconducting electrodes and normal conducting buffer layer, respectively.
