Preparation and characteristics of superconducting cuprate thin films: Nd(2-x)Ce(x)CuO4 and substrated Bi-system [PDF]

open access: yes
Characteristics of the electron-doped-type Nd(sub 2-x)Ce(sub x)CuO4 system and substituted Bi-system were studied using the high quality thin film samples grown by rf magnetron sputtering and/or subsequent heat treatment.

Elliptic supertube and a Bogomol'nyi-Prasad-Sommerfield D2-brane--anti-D2-brane Pair

open access: yes, 2002
An exact solution, in which a D2-brane and an anti-D2-brane are connected by an elliptically tubular D2-brane, is obtained without any junction condition.

Clinical Significance of Therapeutic Drug Level Monitoring for Mycophenolate in Patients with Extra‐Renal Systemic Lupus Erythematosus – A Systematic Review & Meta‐analysis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Background Clinical response to Mycophenolic acid (MPA) is highly heterogeneous; thus, therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) may help improve treatment efficacy. This systematic review and meta‐analysis examined therapeutic ranges for MPA levels associated with better outcomes and safety in patients with SLE, particularly those with extra‐renal ...

Connections between object classification criteria using an ultrasonic bi–sonar system

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2016
The paper presents connections between the criteria which make three types of objects possible to be recognized, namely, edges, planes and corners. These criteria can be applied while a binaural sonar system is used.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Reduction of lattice thermal conductivity from planar faults in the layered Zintl compound SrZnSb_2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The layered Zintl compound SrZnSb_2 is investigated using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to understand the low lattice thermal conductivity. The material displays out-of-phase boundaries with a spacing from 100 down to 2 nm.
