Thermal conductivity variation of Bi2Te3 nanofilm with interfacial defects using molecular dynamics
In this study, the thermal conductivity and thermal boundary resistance (TBR) of Bi2Te3 nanofilms with different interfacial defects were investigated using nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations, and the effects of temperature, defects (step ...

s‐Orbital Mediated Metavalent Bonding Enables State‐Of‐The‐Art n‐Type AgBiSe2 Thermoelectrics
Metavalent bonding (MVB) underpins the exceptional property portfolio of chalcogenides. Typical MVB solids are mainly found in p‐bonded systems. This work reveals that MVB can also be formed with s‐p orbital interactions upon forming a single‐electron σ‐bond, as exemplified in AgBiSe2.

Bi2Te3 photoconductive detectors on Si [PDF]
The peculiar properties of the gapless surface states with a Dirac cone shaped energy dispersion in topological insulators (TIs) enable promising applications in photodetection with an ultra-broad band and polarization sensitivity. Since many TIs can be easily grown on silicon (Si) substrates, TIs on Si could make an alternative route for photon ...

Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the
