The classification of self-dual Bianchi metrics

Classical and Quantum Gravity, 1996
The purpose of this paper is to find the explicit forms of self-dual metrics that are invariant with respect to free actions of three-dimensional Lie groups. This purpose is motivated by a recent attention paid to reduced self-duality equations in connection with the relationship integrability and the Painlevé property.

The automorphism groups for Bianchi universe models and computer-aided invariant classification of metrics

Classical and Quantum Gravity, 1988
An implementation of the time-dependent automorphism formalism for Bianchi cosmologies, in the computer algebra system SHEEP, is described. Its application to the particular case of Bianchi cosmologies admitting vacuum plane-wave solutions is given in relation to the equivalence problem.

Chern–Simons terms in metric-affine space-time: Bianchi identities as Euler–Lagrange equations

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1991
The metric-affine gauge theory of gravity encompasses a space-time with the following geometrical fields: coframe ϑα, metric g, and an independent linear connection Γαβ. Within this geometrical framework, all four-forms B=dC are constructed which qualify as boundary terms for a gauge Lagrangian, that is, they are GL(4,R)-scalars as well as exact forms ...

Integrable and near-integrable dynamical systems associated with Bianchi IX metrics

Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, 1994
The author discusses the integrability of a dynamical system occuring in SU(2)-invariant Riemannian four-metrics. Such metrics are also known as Bianchi type IX metrics. Here the system of equations reduces to a system with one variable.

Axially symmetric Bianchi-I vacuum solutions with background metric. II

2004
Summary: For an axially symmetric higher five-dimensional Bianchi-I space-time \(ds^2= dt^2- e^{2\alpha}\,dx^2- e^{e\beta} (dy^2+ dz^2+ du^2)\) the solutions of the field equations in bimetric relativity \(N_i^j=0\) and \(N_i^j=\lambda g_i^j\) are \(\alpha(t)= mt= \beta(t)\) and \(\alpha(t)= \frac {\lambda}{2} t^2+nt= \beta(t)\), respectively.
