open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, EarlyView.
Abstract We show that banks do not decentralize the first best in a nominal Diamond–Dybvig economy with inside money. Furthermore, state‐contingent deposit contracts do not expand the consumption possibility set to include the first best either. Central banks can improve welfare but only for savers and only with unconventional monetary policy. Finally,

Countercyclical Return Expectations: Evidence from the Livingston Survey

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper shows that forecasts from professional economists in the Livingston survey imply countercyclical variation in expected excess returns on U.S. stocks. The uncomfortable science in the womb: How biological experience disrupts surrogacy narratives

open access: yesMedical Anthropology Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract The discourse surrounding surrogacy portrays pregnancy as a temporary process, depicting surrogates as neutral “carriers” whose involvement concludes at birth. This narrative minimizes gestation's biological significance despite evidence of its lasting effects on both women and children.

ABSTRACT Philosophers often think agency is essentially connected with rationality, intention, or control. However, Minimalists argue that agency is just the power to cause a change; acids and boulders are agents too. Many philosophers treat Minimalism as a wild outlier, assuming its falsity without argument.
