Biaxial Compression Tests on Hopkinson Bars [PDF]
A biaxial compression Hopkinson bar set-up bas been designed. It consists in a projectile, an input bar and two co-axial output bars. After the projectile impact on the input bar, the internal output bar measures the axial loading of the cross sample ...

Mechanical Performance of Steel Slag Concrete under Biaxial Compression. [PDF]
The mechanical performance of steel slag concrete (SSC) under biaxial compression is investigated by a servo-controlled static-dynamic true triaxial machine (TAWZ-5000/3000). Three replacement ratios of steel slags and four kinds of stress ratio (0.25:1, 0.5:1, 0.75:1, and 1:1) are examined in this study.

Fabrication of dense anisotropic collagen scaffolds using biaxial compression. [PDF]
We developed a new method to manufacture dense, aligned, and porous collagen scaffolds using biaxial plastic compression of type I collagen gels. Using a novel compression apparatus that constricts like an iris diaphragm, low density collagen gels were compressed to yield a permanently densified, highly aligned collagen material.

Ductile fracture prediction in thin-walled structures through a novel damage model [PDF]
Damage models have significantly advanced predictions of ductile fractures in large, thin-walled structures like automobiles, ships, and aircraft. However, accurately predicting these fractures remains challenging due to variations in strain localization,

Analysis of Biaxial Mechanical Properties and Failure Criterion of Self-Compacting Concrete
Biaxial compression-compression, biaxial tension-compression and compression-shear tests were carried out on self-compacting concrete (SCC) using the rock true triaxial machine and compression-shear hydraulic servo machine to explore the biaxial ...

Apparatus for measuring strength in biaxial compression
Most measurements of compressive strength of ductile materials have involved Hopkinson–Kolsky bars or Taylor anvils placing samples in uniaxial compression. In these geometries, strain is limited by the tendency of the sample to petal, in analogy to necking in uniaxial tension.

Biaxial compression mechanical properties of HTPB propellant under dynamic loading
To study the biaxial compression mechanical properties of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) solid propellants under dynamic loading, biaxial compression tests were carried out at room temperature (25 °C) with the strain rate ranging from 1 to 85 s−
