Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

Pulsed DC Sputter Deposition of Stable Turbostratic Boron Nitride Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Boron nitride (BN) films are deposited by sputtering from a boron target. During deposition, a substrate bias voltage is applied between the plasma and the sample, which reduces excess boron in the film and enhances the crystallinity. This process prevents the formation of boric acid and ammonium borate hydrate.

3D Printing of Highly Dense and Translucent Zirconia Parts for Dental Applications: Effect of Filament Overlapping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study formulated a 5Y‐PSZ zirconia paste for extrusion‐based additive manufacturing via direct ink writing, producing dense ceramic structures for dental applications. A colloidal approach with 47 vol% nanometric powder and tailored additives optimized rheology and printability.

Infarcted rat myocardium: Data from biaxial tensile and uniaxial compressive testing and analysis of collagen fibre orientation

open access: yesData in Brief, 2016
Myocardial infarction was experimentally induced in rat hearts and harvested immediately, 7, 14 and 28 days after the infarction induction. Anterior wall infarct samples underwent biaxial tensile and uniaxial compressive testing.

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

SIMULATION AND ANALYSIS OF THE BUCKLING BEHAVIOR OF A STIFF FILM/COMPLIANT SUBSTRATE COMPOSITE UNDER IN-PLANE COMPRESSION

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2020
The thin film composite often buckles due to mismatch strain between each layer induced by in-plane residual stress during manufacturing or service loadings in operation.

Biaxially-oriented Polyethylene Films by Compression of Injected Moldings [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Polymer Processing, 1991
Abstract Biaxially oriented PE films were prepared by compression of uniaxially oriented elongational-flow injection-molded precursors. The films so prepared, having different extents of biaxial stretching were compared on the basis of two derived functions, biaxial draw ratio (ƛ) and degree of biaxiality (B).

Dynamic Current Routing in Conductive Liquid Crystal Elastomers for Complex Deformation Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work introduces a novel actuation control strategy in which electrical stimulation generates localized Joule heating in conductive liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) surfaces, enabling complex 3D deformations from a single homogeneous surface without preprogramming.

Biaxial compressive capacity of textile-reinforced concrete

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
The structural behaviour of textile-reinforced concrete (TRC) components under uniaxial compressive loading has already been studied. However, for practical applications, multi-axial loading conditions are often of great importance. It is well known from steel-reinforced concrete that multiaxial compressive stresses lead to increased compressive ...
