Energy Evolution Law of Marble Failure Process Under Different Confining Pressures Based on Particle Discrete Element Method

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2021
The energy dissipation usually occurs during rock failure, which can demonstrate the meso failure process of rock in a relatively accurate way. Based on the results of conventional triaxial compression experiments on the Jinping marble, a numerical ...

Development of a Novel Apparatus to Determine Multiaxial Tensile Failure Criteria of Bridge Repair Materials

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Aging infrastructure is increasingly costing taxpayers due to increased repair and replacement costs. Ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) has recently been recognized as a viable material for both the repair of concrete and steel infrastructure as ...

Non-local energy based fatigue life calculation method under multiaxial variable amplitude loadings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Reliable design of industrial components against high cycle multiaxial fatigue requires a model capable of predicting both stress gradient and load type effects. Indeed, taking into account gradient effects is of prior importance for the applicability of

Fatigue Testing and Evaluation of Fatigue Strength under Multiaxial Stress State; Why do we need fatigue testing?

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Types of multiaxial fatigue tests and their experimental results are presented in this paper. There are typical three types in multiaxial fatigue tests: the combining push-pull and reversed torsion loading test using hollow cylinder specimen, the biaxial

How granular materials deform in quasistatic conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Based on numerical simulations of quasistatic deformation of model granular materials, two rheological regimes are distinguished, according to whether macroscopic strains merely reflect microscopic material strains within the grains in their contact ...

Application of Finite Elastic Theory to the Deformation of Rubbery Materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 1962
The purpose of this discussion, then, is to show how the nature of the strain energy function can be deduced from experiments on rubbery ...

In-plane Biaxial Compression Test on 780MPa Cold Rolled Sheet Steel

open access: yesProcedia Manufacturing, 2020
Abstract Accuracy in finite element simulation (FE-simulation) of press-forming has improved through sophisticated material modelling partly by using data of various experiments such as uniaxial compression test, biaxial tension test, and in-plane cyclic loading test.

Parameter Variation in Planetary Ball Milling of Titanium Aluminide Powder in XHV‐Adequate Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the effects of milling parameters, including rotational speed, milling duration, and ball‐to‐powder ratio, on TiAl particle size and morphology in an XHV‐equivalent atmosphere. The creation of oxide‐free surfaces enhances the mechanical properties of green bodies.
