State of Art for Biaxial Tensile Test Systems
Abstract This paper is a review of biaxial tensile test equipments and specimens. The stresses acting on a component in service are multiaxial in nature. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the mechanical properties of sheet materials not only under uniaxial but also under these multiaxial stress states.

Steel Cruciform Sample with Nitrided Arms Achieves Higher Plastic Strain in the Gauge Region
This paper describes a novel solution to increase plastic strain in the gauge region of a cruciform sample during a forming limit test. A nitriding procedure was used to increase the strength of the arms of the specimen and at the same time enabled ...

Strength evaluation of flake and spheroidal graphite cast irons using diametral compression test
The diametral compression test also known as the Brazilian test is an old and unique method of measuring tensile strength of brittle materials owing to simple specimen geometry test conditions and quickness of testing.

Biaxial Tensile Strength Test for Brittle Rectangular Plates
A new biaxial tensile strength test (ball on three balls test, B3B-test) for brittle materials has been proposed by some of the authors several years ago. A disc-shaped plate is symmetrically supported by three balls at one plane and loaded by a fourth ball in the centre of the opposite plane.

EFFECT OF WELDED STRUCTURE ON THE STRENGTH OF THE AIRHSIP MEMBRANE
In order to investigate the material properties of the welded structure in the airship and the effect of the welded structure on the membrane strength, the test specimens and schemes were designed for uniaxial tensile test, uniaxial cyclic test, and biaxial

Strength criterion of composite solid propellants under dynamic loading
Based on the dynamic loading (1-100 s−1) experiments under different temperatures (223–298 K) and stress states, uniaxial and biaxial strength criterion of a Hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) based composite solid propellant were further ...

Strong strain path dependence of strain localizations and fracture in magnesium AZ31 sheet
This study compares the deformation and fracture behavior of a basal-textured Mg AZ31 alloy sheet under uniaxial tension and biaxial stretching by using an in-plane biaxial test setup capable of observing and measuring the deformation at both meso ...
