An improved parameter fitting approach of a planar biaxial test including the experimental prestretch.

Journal of The Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials, 2022
Planar biaxial testing is a popular experimental technique for characterizing and comparing biological soft tissues. A correct identification of the different stress states of the tissue sample is therefore essential.

Biaxial test and hyperelastic material models of silicone elastomer fabricated by extrusion-based additive manufacturing for wearable biomedical devices.

Journal of The Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials, 2020
Biaxial tensile testing of the silicone elastomer fabricated by additive manufacturing (AM) for wearable biomedical devices is presented. Silicone elastomer has unique mechanical properties ideal for stretchable parts in wearable biomedical devices ...

DEM study of the shear behavior and formation of shear band in biaxial test

, 2020
This paper aims to study the shear behavior of granular matter by DEM simulations. Granular samples are prepared by automatic clump generation algorithm to create particles of irregular shapes.

Biaxial Creep Testing

Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 1971
A new test for investigating biaxial creep in sheet metal is described. The specimen is a thin circular diaphragm clamped at the edge and deflected by lateral hydrostatic pressure. Stress and strain in the central region of the specimen are determined from measurements of pressure and of extension and curvature at the pole.

Biaxial vibration-testing installation

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1980
The installation comprises means for subjecting a specimen-holder table to vibrations with respect to a massive support structure in two perpendicular directions, and guiding means which are independent of the vibration means. The guiding means are located between on the one hand the table and at least one connecting member and on the other hand the ...

Biaxial Testing of Unidirectional Carbon-Epoxy Composite Using Biaxial Iosipescu Test Fixture

Journal of Composite Materials, 1997
In this study, the biaxial Iosipescu test fixture has been employed to determine the failure properties of a unidirectional carbon-epoxy composite subjected to combined shear and transverse tensile stresses. The range of possible biaxial stress states has been extended by varying the fiber orientations in the Iosipescu specimens. Results obtained from

Biaxial mechanical testing of human sclera

Journal of Biomechanics, 2010
The biomechanical environment of the optic nerve head (ONH), of interest in glaucoma, is strongly affected by the biomechanical properties of sclera. However, there is a paucity of information about the variation of scleral mechanical properties within eyes and between individuals. We thus used biaxial testing to measure scleral stiffness in human eyes.

An accurate determination method for constitutive model of anisotropic tubular materials with DIC-based controlled biaxial tensile test

, 2020
The reliability of numerical simulation results vitally depends on the accurate determination of the constitutive model, which requires accurate and sufficient experimental data.
