Biaxial Fatigue Testing Of Vulcanizates
Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1961Abstract Extensive fatigue tests of vulcanizates of natural rubber and SBR were carried out using a cycle of alternate stretching in two perpendicular directions. It is shown that the data can be best handled statistically by assuming a lognormal distribution or by the use of extreme probability techniques.

Biaxial testing of fibre-reinforced composite laminates
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part L: Journal of Materials: Design and Applications, 2008Advanced composite material systems are increasingly used in almost every industrial branch. The structural components manufactured from these composite material systems are usually subjected to complex loading that leads to multi-axial stress and strain fields at critical surface locations.

Biaxial tensile tests of the porcine ascending aorta
Journal of Biomechanics, 2016One of the aims of this work is to develop an original custom built biaxial set-up to assess mechanical behavior of soft tissues. Stretch controlled biaxial tensile tests are performed and stereoscopic digital image correlation (SDIC) is implemented to measure the 3D components of the generated displacements.

Basic studies in biaxial tensile tests
GAMM-Mitteilungen, 2018Biaxial tensile experiments are an increasing test alternative of thin‐walled specimens to characterize the material behavior under mechanical agencies. This is mainly driven by digital image correlation systems to obtain information about the surface deformation.

Biaxial Testing of Repaired Concrete
ACI Materials Journal, 1992In this work, a special biaxial testing set up is designed and used along with some simplified test techniques to study the behavior of repaired concrete. Patched and nonpatched specimens are investigated under biaxial tension-compression states of stress. Different patch configurations, transition and rectangular, along with different patch depths are

A Biaxial Apparatus for Testing Soils
Geotechnical Testing Journal, 1990Abstract A biaxial compression apparatus for investigating shear-band formation and growth in dry and water-saturated sand and clay specimens is described. This apparatus is a modification of the device designed by Vardoulakis and Goldscheider [1] for testing planar shear banding in sands.

High-temperature biaxial testing machines in aerospace
Review of Scientific InstrumentsHigh-temperature biaxial testing machines play an important role in the aerospace sector, being able to simulate complex mechanical and thermal environments similar to those encountered by airplanes in all phases of flight. This paper begins with an overview of the principles and development of high-temperature biaxial testing machines and then ...

Biaxial Fracture Test of Silicon Wafers
Advanced Engineering Materials, 2004The statistical fracture stress distribution of silicon wafers was obtained by biaxial plate bending tests in combination with finite element calculations. For the correct interpretation of these tests it is important that the finite element calculations imply wafer thickness and elastic properties of the multicrystalline silicon wafer, otherwise the ...
