Configurations and relative efficiencies of shrimp trawls employed in southeastern United States waters [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Common shrimp trawl designs employed in the southeastern United States shrimp fishery are the flat, balloon, semiballoon, jib, and super X-3. Recent innovations in trawl design and rigging, including the twin trawl rigging and tongue trawl design, have ...

Recursive constructions for cyclic BIB designs and their generalizations

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1993
This is a well-written, fairly complete survey of results on recursive techniques for constructing cyclic and 1-rotational block designs. An extensive discussion of the application of such techniques to cyclically nested designs is given. Finally, one construction is generalized to other sharply transitive groups.

The Construction of Pairwise Additive Minimal BIB Designs with Asymptotic Results

open access: yesApplied Mathematics, 2014
An asymptotic existence of balanced incomplete block (BIB) designs and pairwise balanced designs (PBD) has been discussed in [1]-[3]. On the other hand, the existence of additive BIB designs and pairwise additive BIB designs with k = 2 and λ = 1 has been discussed with direct and recursive constructions in [4]-[8].

A new series of \(\mu\)-resolvable BIB designs

open access: yes, 2002
Summary: A method of constructing a series of \(\mu\)-resolvable BIB designs from mutually orthogonal mates of BIB designs is provided. The resolvable designs obtainable through this method are new and involve lesser number of blocks for a fixed number of treatments than those obtained by \textit{S. Kageyama} and \textit{R. N. Mohan} [Discrete Math. 45,

A note on the construction of certain BIB designs

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1980
AbstractIn this note a method of construction of certain combinatorial designs is defined. This gives the solution of (121, 132, 60, 55, 27) which is marked as unknown by Kageyama [1].

Variable-speed Generators with Flux Weakening [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A cost-competitive, permanent-magnet 20 kW generator is designed such that the following criteria are satisfied: an (over) load capability of at least 30 kW over the entire speed range of 60-120 rpm, generator weight of about 550 lbs with a maximum ...

On a construction of clay of bib designs from frobenius groups

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1989
A reformulation of a theorem of \textit{J. R. Clay} [Discrete Math. 59, 229- 234 (1986; Zbl 0617.05012), for the construction of BIB designs from Frobenius groups is presented.
