Incremental refinement of relevance rankings: Balancing relevance depth and scope

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Delivering both relevant and topically diverse results is a key challenge in information retrieval (IR). This study introduces a hybrid method that incrementally refines rankings by combining probabilistic topic modeling (latent dirichlet allocation [LDA]) with citation‐based pennant retrieval grounded in Relevance Theory (RT), optimizing for ...

Speckle Observations With PISCO in Calern (France): III. Astrometric Measurements of Visual Double Stars in 2019 and New or Revised Orbits for STT531 AB, STT77 AB, STF1338 AB, COU1746, STT260, A1109 AB, HU1291, and A632 AB

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present relative astrometric measurements of visual double stars, made in 2019 with the speckle camera PISCO at the 1‐m Epsilon telescope of the C2PU facility (Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur, Calern site). Our observing list contains orbital couples as well as double stars whose motion is still uncertain.

Carrion ecology: concepts, interdisciplinary synthesis, and perspectives

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Carrion is a ubiquitous resource in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, yet it has long been overlooked in ecological research. Over the past two decades, studies on carrion and the many organisms that exploit it have flourished, revealing not only wide‐ranging ecological functions but also significance far beyond ecology.

From bibliographic coupling to data coupling

open access: yes, 2008
Bibliographic coupling is a term coined by Kessler (doi:10.1002/asi.5090140103) in 1963 as a measure of similarity between documents. If two documents, A and B, cite a third, C, then A and B are coupled. I'm interested in extending this to data, such as DNA sequences and specimens.

Co-citation, bibliographic coupling and a characterization of lattice citation networks

open access: yesScientometrics, 2002
In this article we study directed, acyclic graphs. We introduce the head and tail order relations and study some of their properties. Recalling the notions of generalized bibliographic coupling and generalized co-citation, and introducing a new property, called the l - property, we come to a characterization of lattices.
