Description of Serials, RDA, and the MARC 21 Bibliographic Format

The Joint Steering Committee for Development of Resource Description and Access (RDA) has invited the German National Library to prepare a discussion paper on how RDA might accommodate bibliographic descriptions of serials based on the latest available issue. Such descriptions in RDA are currently based on the earliest available issue.

The MARC tags and ISBD display formats for the ABCD UNIMARC bibliographic database

ABCD is a free and open integrated library management software based on the CDS/ISIS technology. Its first version, launched in December 2009, provided a MARC 21 format database. The second version, released mid-2012, provided the second international MARC format database, namely UNIMARC.
