Evaluation of the bibliographic format of academic periodicals as they are now
Journal of Information Processing and Management, 2008 学術雑誌，紀要類における表紙のレイアウトなどのフォーマットが，学術刊行物として当然にクリアされるべき要件を必ずしも満たしていない現状を報告する。SISTをベースに著者グループ内の討論で具体的ポイントをチェックする調査シートを策定し，個々の逐次刊行物について評価した。評価対象は看護分野の雑誌を中心に商業出版社の発行する専門誌20誌，学会誌10誌，および大学，病院等の紀要類20誌である。評価点自体やその比較が目的ではなく，個々の雑誌の改善を要する事項を具体的に示すとともに，それらを例として必ずしも出版の専門家ではない学術雑誌編集者にも分かりやすいフォーマット改善の指針を示すことを目指した。多くの雑誌，紀要類が貴重な学術情報源でありながらテクニカルな問題で価値を半減させている現状に対する改善提案である。
