ABSTRACT This article contributes to the history of material culture and intellectual biography by definitively identifying the Paduan scholar Matteo Macigni (ca. 1510–1582) as the author of the annotations found in a 1535 copy of Albrecht Dürer’s Institutionum geometricarum currently preserved in Vicenza.

Popularizing Autogestión: Punk, Zapatismo, and Anarchist Ethics in Mexico City
ABSTRACT Autogestión (self‐management), has been a popular articulation of radical politics since its emergence in the 1960s. This article examines how Mexico City's anarcho‐punk scene transformed autogestión in the 1990s from an anarcho‐syndicalist principle into a unique ethical practice detached from industrial material production.

Abstract This article explores how European travellers to Africa perceived African masculinity, the male body and sexuality during the period of 1450–1730. It argues that their observations helped Europeans construct early notions of racial difference at a time when skin colour was not the most important marker of difference classifying people.

Abstract This article shines a light on the musical contents of a “book of births”, the Liber Nativitatum or Albubather, written by the Persian Astrologer Abu Bakr al‐Hassan ibn al‐Khasib in the ninth century, translated into Latin at the beginning of the thirteenth century, and published in Venice in 1501.
