Proportional BIC Sensor for Current Testing

Journal of Electronic Testing, 1992
A new design of a BIC sensor for current testing static CMOS circuits is proposed. It is based on a lateral BJT device which is easy to incorporate in any standard CMOS process. The design diverts a fraction of the iDD current from the cell under test and a resistive component generates a voltage proportional to iDD Additional features are the ...

Dual-quasi BIC enabled plasmonic metasurfaces and active switch between BIC and quasi-BIC

Physica Scripta
Abstract The potential of local surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) in the aspect of high sensitivity optical sensors has attracted wide attention. Nevertheless, the application of LSPR sensors is limited by material’s inherent ohmic loss and far-field radiation loss, resulting in a lower quality-factor (Q).

Adaptive modulation and coding for BIC-UFMC and BIC-OFDM systems taking CFO into account

2016 Symposium on Communications and Vehicular Technologies (SCVT), 2016
The performance of multicarrier systems can be considerably degraded because of inter-carrier interference (ICI) caused by a carrier frequency offset (CFO) between the transmitter and the receiver. A recently developed multicarrier modulation technique, referred to as uniform filtered multicarrier (UFMC), improves the robustness against CFO, thereby ...

An improved CMOS BICS for on-line testing

Proceedings 6th IEEE International On-Line Testing Workshop (Cat. No.PR00646), 2002
Dedicated to a wide range of power supplies current monitoring, a new version of a CMOS built-in current sensor is proposed. It takes advantage of the classical parasitic resistor attached to an interconnection layer, as well as to a feedback circuit with high static gain capability.

Counterexamples to parsimony and BIC

Annals of the Institute of Statistical Mathematics, 1991
Suppose that the log-likelihood-ratio sequence of two models with different numbers of estimated parameters is bounded in probability, without necessarily having a chi-square limiting distribution. Then BIC and all other related “consistent” model selection criteria, meaning those which penalize the number of estimated parameters with a weight which ...

Enhancing second harmonic generation by merging symmetry-protected BIC and Fabry–Perot BIC

Applied Optics
Second harmonic generation (SHG) at nanoscales has significant applications in integrated optical devices, including nanolasers, quantum light sources, and nanosensors. In this work, we numerically demonstrate boosted SHG conversion efficiency by merging symmetry-protected bound state in the continuum (BIC) and Fabry–Perot BIC.
