The Biceps Squeeze Test for Diagnosis of Distal Biceps Tendon Ruptures

Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 2005
Using the Thompson test for Achilles tendon rupture as a model, we developed the biceps squeeze test to test the integrity of the distal biceps tendon. We wanted to determine if failure to elicit supination with the biceps squeeze test would indicate complete distal biceps rupture.

Increased fatigue of the biceps after tenotomy of the long head of biceps tendon

Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, 2018
The aim of this study is to evaluate the biomechanical parameters of biceps fatigue (time to claudication during elbow flexion) and strength between the shoulder where the tenotomy has been performed and the healthy arm. The hypothesis of this study was that measuring biceps fatigue may be more useful for determining functionality after tenotomy.52 ...

Results of biceps tenotomy for treatment of pathology of the long head of the biceps brachii

Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, 2001
Historically, the surgical treatment of bicipital pathology has been a variety of tenodesis techniques. The purpose of this study is to report the results of simple biceps tenotomy for the treatment of bicipital pathology. Thirty shoulders in 30 consecutive patients who had a simple arthroscopic biceps tendon release were reviewed.

Biceps Brachii Tendon Injuries: Biceps Tendon Rupture

2017
Biceps tendon injuries can be a significant source of pain, loss of function, and upper arm deformity in either the acute or chronic setting. Evaluation and treatments differ depending on whether the proximal or distal tendon is affected. A thorough history and physical examination is crucial in making the correct diagnosis.

Biceps

2011
♦ LHB pathology is a commonn cause of anterior shoulder pain♦ Clinical evaluation and diagnostic imaging are both imprecise♦ Isolated biceps pathology may be present in the younger athlete♦ Degenerative biceps pathology is often associated with rotator cuff pathology♦ Failure to treat concomitant LHB pathology is a cause for surgical failures in many ...
