Muscle elasticity variations in assessing age‐related changes in adults – A systematic review

open access: yesGeriatrics &Gerontology International, EarlyView.
This systematic review suggests that muscle stiffness, measured by shear wave elastography, tends to decrease or remain unchanged with age in a relaxed state, to increase during passive stretching, and to decrease with contraction. These findings provide valuable insights into age‐related variations in muscle stiffness.

Multiple developmental origins of the avian propatagial muscle and their evolutionary implications

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Through the analyses on the developmental process of forelimb muscles in the chicken and outgroup taxa, we found that the avian propatagial muscle developed from multiple cell masses derived from parts of the developing forelimb muscles, in association with the hypertrophied dermis along the cranial edge of the developing propatagium.

Arthroscopic On-Lay Biceps Tenodesis: The Loop-Lock Technique

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2019
The biceps tendon is a common pain generator in the shoulder. Long head of the biceps tendon pathology occurs in a variety of different ways. There are several different treatment options available to address the long head of the biceps. With advances in

Subpectoral Biceps Tenodesis: All-Suture Anchor Onlay Technique

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2020
Surgical management for biceps pathologies has advanced to provide stronger fixation and to be less invasive. The long head of the biceps tendon has been recognized as a common contributor to anterior shoulder pain and is often associated with other ...

A rare case of an anatomical variation of bilateral long head of the biceps brachii tendons identified within the substance of bifid subscapularis tendons

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, Rehabilitation and Technology, 2021
The long head of the biceps tendon is stabilized in the intertubercular groove by several anatomical structures. Dislocation or identification of the biceps tendon into or within the subscapularis tendon is very rarely mentioned in the literature.

Distal Biceps Tendon Repair Using a Single Incision, Dual Anchor Technique

open access: yesVideo Journal of Sports Medicine, 2023
Background: Distal biceps tendon ruptures commonly present in the middle-aged population resulting in deficits of strength and endurance. Operative management has shown improved functional outcome; however, there is not a clear consensus on an ideal ...

Arthroscopic Upper Third Subscapularis Tendon Repair Using H‐Loop Technique: A Case Series

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 1525-1535, May 2025.
The images show the surgical technique. (a) Partial subscapularis tendon tear; (b) A PDS suture is passed through the medial and distal edges of the tear and tied at the end to bring in a #2 Fiber Wire suture; (c) Another PDS suture is passed through the tear and inside the loop; (d) The end of the PDS suture is tied, securing both tails of the #2 ...

The All-Inside Arthroscopic Loop Tenodesis Procedure to Treat Long Head of Biceps Tendon Pathologies

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2019
A variety of techniques are available to treat pathologies of the long head of the biceps tendon. Next to a simple tenotomy and different tenodesis techniques, the loop tenodesis procedure was recently introduced.

Wing myology of Caracaras (Aves, Falconiformes): muscular features associated with flight behavior [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Caracaras (Aves, Falconiformes, Falconidae) are Neotropical diurnal raptors that belong to the subfamily Polyborinae. The forelimb myology of this group has not been comprehensively studied or compared with that of other Falconidae.

The Long Head of Biceps Tendon Tenotomy in Idiopathic Glenohumeral Adhesive Capsulitis Surgery Improves Early Rehabilitation Outcomes

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
In the patients with idiopathic glenohumeral adhesive capsulitis after undergoing arthroscopic capsular release, compared with patients of leaving LHBT in situ group, patients of LHBT tenotomy group leads to significant improvements in joint mobility and pain reduction in early rehabilitation stages.
