Bispaces admitting only bicomplete or only totally bounded quasi-metrics

Rendiconti Del Circolo Matematico Di Palermo, 2001
The authors extend the following result: a (pseudo) metrizable topological space admits only complete (pseudo) metrics if and only if it is compact. In section 2 the above result is studied for quasi-(pseudo) metrizable bispaces. An example shows that it is not true that quasi-metrizable bispaces \((X,S,T)\) admit only bicomplete quasi-metrics if and ...

FIBREWISE BICOMPLETE QUASI-UNIFORM SPACES

Far East Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2015
Summary: We introduce the notion of complete quasi-uniform spaces over a base space \(B\) and give some properties of these spaces. We introduce a general method to obtain fibrewise completion of quasi-uniform spaces over \(B\) and give internal descriptions of fibrewise completions for two different types.

Fixed point of multivalued maps on partially ordered bicomplete quasi-metric spaces

Discussiones Mathematicae: Differential Inclusions, Control and Optimization
Summary: We introduce the concept of d-continuity and \(d^{-1}\)-continuity for multivalued mappings defined on a partially ordered quasi-metric spaces. Then, we prove several fixed point theorems for multivalued maps which generalize the existing results in the literature. At the end we give examples to illustrate our results.

From Parity Games to Circular Proofs

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Theoretical Computer Science, 2002
International audienceWe survey on the ongoing research that relates the combinatorics of parity games to the algebra of categories with finite products, finite coproducts, initial algebras and final coalgebras of definable functors, i.e.

The six operations in topology

Journal of Topology, 2021
In this paper, we show that the six functor formalism for sheaves on locally compact Hausdorff topological spaces, as developed, for example,‐ in Kashiwara and Schapira's book Sheaves on Manifolds, can be extended to sheaves with values in any closed ...

Verdier duality on conically smooth stratified spaces

Algebraic & Geometric Topology, 2022
In this paper we prove a duality for constructible sheaves on conically smooth stratified spaces. Here we consider sheaves with values in a stable and bicomplete $\infty$-category equipped with a closed symmetric monoidal structure, and in this setting ...

Bicompletion and Samuel Bicompactification

Applied Categorical Structures, 2002
Let \(T:\mathbf{QU}_0 \to\text\textbf{TOP}_0\) be the forgetful functor, where \(\mathbf{QU}_0\) is the category of quasi-uniform \(T_0\)-spaces and \(\mathbf{TOP}_0\) is the category of topological \(T_0\)-spaces. A functor \(F:\mathbf{TOP}_0\to\text\textbf{QU}_0\) is called a \(T\)-section if \(T\circ F: \mathbf{TOP}_0 \to\text\textbf{TOP}_0\) is the

Idempotency of Extensions via the Bicompletion

Applied Categorical Structures, 2006
This paper is a contribution to categorical quasi-uniform topology [see, e.g., \textit{H. Künzi}, ``Quasi-uniform spaces'', in: Encyclopedia of general topology, Amsterdam: Elsevier (2004; Zbl 1059.54001), pp 266--270], and is a continuation of the authors' paper [Appl. Categ. Struct. 10, No. 3, 317--330 (2002; Zbl 1008.54016)].
