Research on non-omnidirenctional biconical broadband antenna

2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology, 2010
This paper presents an anti-interference biconical antenna which is used for wireless communication systems existing an Electromagnetic interference source (EMI). A new method is used to realize directionality without the need for increase in size, which is different from general methods such as using array antenna or adding reflector.

On the Theory of Biconical Antennas

Journal of Applied Physics, 1948
The investigation contained in this paper gives a general treatment of the theory of biconical antennas based upon Smith's formulation of the problem. For the case of small-angle cones, an expression of the effective load admittance is obtained which is the same one that Schelkunoff derived based upon two rather ingenious methods, both of which ...

Ring Charges on Biconical Transmitting Antennas

Electromagnetics, 1987
ABSTRACT The arm-cap Junction of a biconical antenna supports a ring charge, the value of which is calculable in an electromagnetically exact way. The field intensity Just off its surface Is singular but integrable. Charge values are calculated Using conservation of charge and Causa' law.

Ultra-wideband parabolic bicone antenna for ground penetrating radar

2015 23rd International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM), 2015
Antenna design for ground penetrating radar (GPR) is very complex and depends on specific application. In typical civil engineering GPR applications, the antennas need to be low cost, small size, compact and simple while operating in close vicinity to real ground and in wide frequency band.

Performance of biconical antennas at low frequencies

1992 Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics, 1992
Planar wire model biconical antennas with flare angle of 30°, 60°, and 90°, and various hat angles are examined using the method of moment. It is found that the planar model does not exhibit the same broadband performance as the body-of-revolution model.

A hybrid simulator with novel bicone-wire grid antenna

Review of Scientific Instruments
The simulator is an indispensable device for the study of high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) effects. In order to improve the quality of the electric field waveforms of the HEMP simulator, we carried out simulation and experimental studies for the biconical-wire grid antenna.
