Biological Activity of Bicyclic Monoterpene Alcohols

BioNanoScience, 2021
The present paper aims to study the biological properties of a series of bicyclic monoterpene alcohols. Firstly, we tested the obtained compounds for fungicidal activity against clinical and reference strains of microscopic fungi. Next, we determined the minimum inhibitory concentration of these compounds comparing to other drugs widely used in ...

Oxidation of bicyclic monoterpene ketones with Caro’s acid

Russian Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2012
Previously unknown seven-membered lactones, (1R,1′R,5S,5′S)-5,5′-oxybis(1,8,8-trimethyl-2-oxabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-3-one), 2,2-dimethyl-1,6-dioxaspiro[2.6]nonan-7-one, 4-(1-hydroxy-1-methylethyl)-7-methyloxepan-2-one, and (4R,4′R,7S,7′S)-4,4′-[oxybis(propane-2,2-diyl)]bis(7-methyloxepan-2-one), were synthesized by the Baeyer-Villiger reaction using Caro ...

Palladium/tin catalyzed alkoxycarbonylation of naturally occurring bicyclic monoterpenes

Journal of Molecular Catalysis A: Chemical, 1998
Abstract The alkoxycarbonylation of camphene and β -pinene has been studied. The following systems have been used as catalysts: PdCl 2 (PPh 3 ) 2 /SnCl 2 /PPh 3 and PdCl 2 (diphosphine)/SnCl 2 /PPh 3 whose diphosphines were 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane, 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane and 1,4-bis(diphenylphosphino)butane.

Palladium-catalyzed oxidation of bicyclic monoterpenes by hydrogen peroxide

Applied Catalysis A: General, 1998
Abstract The activity of the PdCl 2 –CuCl 2 combination in the oxidation of camphene, α-pinene, and β-pinene by dioxygen in acetic acid solutions has been studied. The reactions of α-pinene and β-pinene yield a mixture of carveyl acetate (up to 25% on reacted olefin), α-terpenyl acetate, bornyl chloride, and fenchyl chloride.
