Bidirectional ventricular tachycardia of unknown etiology.

open access: yesJournal of the College of Physicians and Surgeons--Pakistan : JCPSP, 2013
A 45 years old male presented to the emergency department with palpitations, headache and apprehension. His electrocardiogram revealed bidirectional ventricular tachycardia. He remained vitally stable and responded to intravenous beta-blocker. Initially digitalis toxicity was suspected but history was negative for digitalis intake.

Ventricular Tachycardia in the Absence of Structural Heart Disease

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal, 2005
In up to 10% of patients who present with ventricular tachycardia (VT), obvious structural heart disease is not identified. In such patients, causes of ventricular arrhythmia include right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) VT, extrasystoles, idiopathic ...

Andersen-Tawil Syndrome

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal, 2006
Andersen-Tawil syndrome (ATS) is a rare condition consisting of ventricular arrhythmias, periodic paralysis, and dysmorphic features. In 2001, mutations in KCNJ2, which encodes the α subunit of the potassium channel Kir2.1, were identified in patients ...

The incidence and risk factors of arrhythmias in the early period after cardiac surgery in pediatric patients

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Pediatrics, 2008
Rhythm disturbances that develop after pediatric surgery for heart disease significantly increase mortality and morbidity risk. The aim of this study was to determine incidence rates of different arrhythmias and identify risk factors for these ...
