SHILNIKOV BIFURCATION: STATIONARY QUASI-REVERSAL BIFURCATION

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2008
A generic stationary instability that arises in quasi-reversible systems is studied. It is characterized by the confluence of three eigenvalues at the origin of complex plane with only one eigenfunction. We characterize the dynamics through the normal form that exhibits in particular, Shilnikov chaos, for which we give an analytical prediction.

Periodically Perturbed Bifurcation. II. Hopf Bifurcation

Studies in Applied Mathematics, 1981
We consider the effect of a periodic perturbation on the bifurcation behavior of a system of differential equations. It is shown that periodic solutions are, in general, modified into quasiperiodic solutions. Different phenomena are encountered in resonance and near‐resonance conditions, leading in some cases to separation of solution branches and in ...

OBSERVABILITY BIFURCATION VERSUS OBSERVING BIFURCATIONS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2002
Abstract In this paper we highlight the difference between observability bifurcation and observing bifurcation. From this, we deduce that one way to improve transmission by synchronization of chaotic systems may be chaotic transmitter with also observability bifurcation.

Coronary bifurcation stenting using dedicated bifurcation stents

Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, 2000
We report three cases of successful implantation of three different stents specially designed for bifurcation lesions, guided by intracoronary ultrasound. The BARD and AVE are true bifurcated stents for side-branch access and the NIR-Side Royal is a single modified NIR stent with an aperture to allow provisional bifurcation stenting.

Bifurcated Anastomosis

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1997
Bifurcated anastomosis is a technique wherein geometrically tailored flaps of a vein graft are anastomosed to an arteriotomy in a vessel and its two branches. Although this technique may be useful for the surgical management of any diseased arterial bifurcation, it is particularly valuable in coronary endarterectomy or when complete revascularization ...

Infinite Period Bifurcation and Global Bifurcation Branches

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1981
Branches of periodic solutions which exhibit the alternatives of the global Hopf bifurcation theorem are calculated for two general systems of differential equations.
