Bifurcation rigidity

Physica D: Nonlinear Phenomena, 1999
It has been numerically observed that bifurcation diagrams of interval maps are related by a nearly linear change of parameter coordinates. The authors offer an analytic explanation for this phenomenon, based on the computation of rescaled maps. They likewise study two parameter families of interval maps with more than one critical point.

Speciation and bifurcations

Biosystems, 1989
The interrelations of physics and biology are discussed. It is shown that Darwin can be considered as one of the founders of the important field of contemporary physics called physics of dissipative structures or synergetics. The theories of gradual and punctual evolution are presented.

On the 'quaternionic' bifurcation

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1985
The paper describes an example of a ''quaternionic'' bifurcation problem: that is a bifurcation problem which is equivariant with respect to a real irreducible representation of a group G, and such that the space of linear operators commuting with the representation has dimension 4.

On the Definitions of Bifurcation

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1997
In this paper the equivalence of two definitions of elementary bifurcation is proved and a new definition for bifurcation is given.

Bifurcations and manifolds

1999
Abstract The solutions are real for λ 3 and λ 1, and complex for 3 < λ < 1. The graphs of Re(m1) and Re(m2) against λ are shown in Figure 12.1. Noting the signs of m1 and m2, we can observe that the equilibrium point at the origin is: A bifurcation occurs at the parametric value λ 1 where, as λ increases, the equilibrium ...

Modeling, Analysis and Bifurcation Control of a Delayed Fractional-Order Predator-Prey Model

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos in Applied Sciences and Engineering, 2018
This paper basically concentrates on the bifurcation control of a fractional delayed predator–prey system via feedback control methodology. Firstly, time delay is regarded as a bifurcation parameter, and the delay-induced bifurcation conditions for such ...

The Bifurcation of Politics: Two Englands

, 2016
A dynamic of global economic development means that many countries are experiencing uneven development and their citizens are increasingly split between those who can access high skill jobs and those that cannot.

OBSERVABILITY BIFURCATION VERSUS OBSERVING BIFURCATIONS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2002
Abstract In this paper we highlight the difference between observability bifurcation and observing bifurcation. From this, we deduce that one way to improve transmission by synchronization of chaotic systems may be chaotic transmitter with also observability bifurcation.

Bifurcation of Codimension 3 in a Predator-Prey System of Leslie Type with Simplified Holling Type IV Functional Response

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos in Applied Sciences and Engineering, 2016
It was shown in [Li & Xiao, 2007] that in a predator–prey model of Leslie type with simplified Holling type IV functional response some complex bifurcations can occur simultaneously for some values of parameters, such as codimension 1 subcritical Hopf ...
