Multiple Buckling and Codimension-Three Bifurcation Phenomena of a Nonlinear Oscillator
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2014In this paper, we investigate the global bifurcations and multiple bucklings of a nonlinear oscillator with a pair of strong irrational nonlinear restoring forces, proposed recently by Han et al. [2012]. The equilibrium stabilities of multiple snap-through buckling system under static loading are analyzed.

Prediction and Control of Buckling: The Inverse Bifurcation Problems for von Karman Equations
Applied Mathematical Analysis: Theory, Methods, and Applications, 2019The chapter presents novel approaches to predict and control buckling of thin-walled structures; mathematically, these approaches are formalized as the first and second inverse bifurcation problems for von Karman equations. Both approaches are based upon the method employed to solve the direct bifurcation problem for the equations in question.

AbstractA multiple‐parameter reduced basis technique and a problem‐adaptive computational algorithm are presented for the bifurcation and post‐buckling analyses of composite plates subjected to combined loadings. The computational algorithm can be conveniently divided into three distinct stages.

Elastic thin shells with large axisymmetric imperfection: from bifurcation to snap-through buckling
Journal of the mechanics and physics of solids, 2020Elastic thin shells are well-known for their highly unstable post-buckling, a response that exhausts their pressure bearing capacity and leads to catastrophic collapse.
