Thermal-Driven Bifurcation and Modal Characteristics of Interference-Mounted GPL-Reinforced Composite Annular Plates for Precision Power-Transmission Components

International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics
This study investigates the thermo-mechanical analysis of a thin composite annular plate mounted onto a rigid shaft with an interference fit (as a power transmission system), wherein the inner radius of the plate is initially smaller than that of the ...

Bifurcation and large-deflection analyses of thin-walled beam-columns with non-symmetric open-sections

Thin-walled structures, 2018
Non-symmetric thin-walled open-sections are used extensively in metal structures. The behaviour of such sections is usually complex because their shear centre and centroid do not coincide, and as a result, they are often susceptible to lateral-torsional ...

Post-buckling of fiber-reinforced soft tissues

Journal of the mechanics and physics of solids
Fiber-reinforcement is a universal feature of many biological tissues. It involves the interplay between fiber stiffness, fiber orientation, and the elastic properties of the matrix, influencing pattern formation and evolution in layered tissues.

A two-point Padé approximation for the in-plane buckling of a rotating beam

Mathematics and mechanics of solids
A global approximation for the neutral stability curve describing the divergence buckling of a uniformly rotating beam clamped off the axis of rotation is proposed using two-point Padé approximants.

Experimental Tests on Buckling of Torispherical Heads and Methods of Plastic Bifurcation Analysis

Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology, 1986
Sixteen torispherical heads were tested under internal pressure. These heads, which were 500 mm in diameter, had diameter/thickness ratios ranging from 330 to 1000. They were all prepared by spinning mild steel plates. Deflections along the axis and in the knuckle area were recorded.

Buckling analysis of elastic thin shells with stepwise variable thickness under static thermomechanical effects

Strength of Materials and Theory of Structures
The results of a comprehensive analysis of elastic shell behavior under static thermomechanical loads are presented. The study focuses on geometrically nonlinear deformation, buckling, and natural vibrations of shells.

Finite Element Analysis of Warpage Hysteresis Loop Evolution and Bifurcation in Thinned 4H-SiC Cu_ECD Metalized Wafers

International Conference on Thermal, Mechanial and Multi-Physics Simulation and Experiments in Micro-Electronics and Micro-Systems
The thinning of large wafers often leads to increased warpage due to residual stress, adversely affecting wafer processability and chip-to-package interaction (CPI).

Geometrically exact post-buckling and post-flutter of standing cantilevered pipe conveying fluid

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications
Although the nonlinear dynamics of hanging cantilevered pipes conveying fluid have been extensively scrutinized, there is limited research on the nonlinear behavior of standing ones.
