BIFURCATIONS AND CHAOS IN CELLULAR NEURAL NETWORKS

Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 2003
The dynamic behavior of first-order autonomous space invariant cellular neural networks (CNNs) is investigated. It is shown that complex dynamics may occur in very simple CNN structures, described by two-dimensional templates that present only vertical and horizontal couplings.

BIFURCATION AND CHAOS IN COUPLED BVP OSCILLATORS

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2004
Bonhöffer–van der Pol(BVP) oscillator is a classic model exhibiting typical nonlinear phenomena in the planar autonomous system. This paper gives an analysis of equilibria, periodic solutions, strange attractors of two BVP oscillators coupled by a resister.

Bifurcation and Chaos in Friction-Induced Vibration

Design Engineering, 2002
Friction-induced vibration is a phenomenon that has received extensive study by the dynamics community. This is because of the important industrial relevance and the evere-volving development of new friction models. In this paper, we report the result of bifurcation study of a single-degree-of-freedom mechanical oscillator sliding over a surface.

BIFURCATION AND CHAOS IN THE TINKERBELL MAP

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2011
In this paper, the dynamical behaviors of the Tinkerbell map are investigated in detail. Conditions for the existence of fold bifurcation, flip bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation are derived, and chaos in the sense of Marotto is verified by both analytical and numerical methods.

Bifurcation and Chaos in Nonsmooth Mechanical Systems

2003
This book presents the theoretical frame for studying lumped nonsmooth dynamical systems: the mathematical methods are recalled, and adapted numerical methods are introduced (differential inclusions, maximal monotone operators, Filippov theory, Aizerman theory, etc.).

Bifurcation analysis and Chaos detection in power systems

2008 43rd International Universities Power Engineering Conference, 2008
Power systems show a complex non-linear behaviour due to different phenomena widespread over different time frames. Thus, power system stability is a significant research issue. Bifurcation theory can contribute to face these power system security problems.

BIFURCATION AND CHAOS IN INVESTMENTS FIRM POLICY

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1989
Abstract In this paper we consider a joint shares Company where a Cartel of shares holders can influence the firm productivity through the reinvestment of profits and modifyng the number of shares at its disposal. The dynamics of the system can be represented by iteration of a two dimensional map which is strongly connected to the Henon nap.

Sonification of Bifurcation and Chaos

Second International Conference on Innovative Computing, Informatio and Control (ICICIC 2007), 2007
In order to understand oscillatory behavior of physical systems it is common to plot the time series data for making figures of oscillation waveform. Oscillations in nonlinear systems, in particular, are often analyzed from the view point of the visualized structures that stand for dynamical characteristics or bifurcation structures.

Gimbal Suspension Gyro: Stability, Bifurcation, and Chaos

Journal of Dynamical and Control Systems, 2001
The paper deals with mechanical model of gimballed gyroscope -- balanced gimbal suspension gyro (GSG) which is installed on an immovable base. External gimbal ring is under the action of viscous friction moment and moment represented by some function of the angle between external ring plane and normal vector to internal ring plane, in steady motion ...
