Centralized Routing for Bike-sharing Systems
IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, 2021Bike-sharing systems, where people rent bikes typically for last-mile commuting, has gained great popularity in recent years due to the rapid development of mobile networks. Station-based bike-sharing systems have been widely studied in both academia and industry, where problems like bike rental demand prediction and bike redistribution have been ...

Citywide Bike Usage Prediction in a Bike-Sharing System
IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, 2020To operate a bike-sharing system efficiently, system operators need to accurately predict how many bikes are to be rented and returned throughout the city. In this paper, we propose a Hierarchical Consistency Prediction (HCP) model to predict the citywide bike usage in the next period.

Mean field analysis for bike and e-bike sharing systems
ACM SIGMETRICS Performance Evaluation Review, 2022Electric bikes are deployed massively in preexisting bike sharing system in order to attract new users and replace cars on a larger scale (see [2]). But this causes interactions between the two populations of bikes. In this paper, we analyze a model of an homogeneous bike sharing system where two classes of bikes interact only through the finite ...

Mobility prediction for uneven distribution of bikes in bike sharing systems
Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, 2022SummaryUser mobility represents the movement of either individual or group. In smart cities, detection and prediction of mobility patterns are required for numerous applications like resource distribution, traffic management, and user behavioral analysis.

A Bike Sharing System Simulator
2018Bike-sharing systems are becoming very popular in big cities. They provide a cheap and green mean of transportation used for commuting and leisure. Being a shared limited resource, it is common to reach imbalanced situations where some stations have either no bikes or only empty slots, thus decreasing the performance of the system.

Bike-Sharing Prediction System
2016Bike Sharing System is a dynamic network. This paper proposes a method to balance the network and allocate the bikes in each station to avoid the imbalance happening. Real-time monitoring takes too much time to reallocate the bikes if an imbalance has occurred so it cannot tackle this problem well.

Traffic prediction in a bike-sharing system
Proceedings of the 23rd SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems, 2015Bike-sharing systems are widely deployed in many major cities, providing a convenient transportation mode for citizens' commutes. As the rents/returns of bikes at different stations in different periods are unbalanced, the bikes in a system need to be rebalanced frequently.

Study on the Bike-sharing Inventory Rebalancing and Vehicle Routing for Bike-sharing System
Abstract Bike-sharing system has been launched in many cities, due to the essential merits. Along with the convenience brought by the rapid development of bike-sharing system, several severe problems also arise. The most serious problem is the uneven distribution of bicycles.
