The Possible Efficacy of Artichoke in Fluconazole Related Hepatotoxicity

open access: yesCase Reports in Hepatology, Volume 2014, Issue 1, 2014., 2014
Although fluconazole related hepatotoxicity (FRH) is rare, mortal acute hepatic necrosis and jaundice were reported in immunocompromised states such as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and bone marrow transplant (BMT). We present a case of a patient with multiple sclerosis who developed hepatotoxicity with the use of a single 150 mg ...

Influence of Febrile Neutropenia Period on Plasma Viscosity at Malignancy

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
Cancer, chemotherapy, and infections all together make changes in blood rheology and may affect the defense mechanisms by changing the thrombocyte function and endothelial cell. We have examined changes of blood rheology on plasma viscosity to put on probable following criteria for starting the treatment of febrile neutropenia immediately.

Boron compounds are effective on Tribolium castaneum (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae): Reduced lipogenesis and induced body weight loss

open access: yesArchives of Insect Biochemistry and Physiology, Volume 115, Issue 3, March 2024.
Two borates, disodium octaborate tetrahydrate (Etidot‐67) and calcium metaborate (CMB) revealed high insecticidal efficacy on Tribolium castaneum with the latter being more effective. Both boron compounds reduced triglyceride levels, downregulated acetyl‐CoA carboxylase and fatty acid synthase genes, and induced body weight loss.
