Joint Bilateral Filtering based Non-local Means Image Denoising

open access: yes, 2014
This paper proposes a denoising algorithm which performs non-local means bilateral filtering. As existing literature suggests, non-local means (NLM) is one of the widely used denoising techniques, but has a critical drawback of smoothing of edges.

A Multiscale Mechanistic Framework for Polydopamine Dyeing in Ultrablack Wool Textiles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ultrablack photonic textiles are enabled through polydopamine (PDA) dyeing, which is governed by the interplay of PDA chemistry, wool surface topology and chemistry, and hierarchical fiber–yarn–fabric architecture. Fabric architecture emerges as a primary and previously underappreciated design lever for wide‐angle optical performance.

A Microenvironment‐Adaptive Scaffold Rejuvenates Peripheral Nerve Regeneration During Aging Via Dual Modulation of Ferroptotic Stimuli in Schwann Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
(i) Aging impairs peripheral nerve regeneration via its dual ferroptosis‐mediated pathologies in senescent schwann cells. (ii) The composite nerve conduit is a symbiosis niche integrating microenvironment‐responsive nanoparticles (Ga‐PTAs) and maxillofacial‐derived mesenchymal stem cells (Mmscs).

Intrasplenic Thymus Organogenesis from Injectable Tissue Fragments Restores Functional T‐Cell Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Clinical intramuscular thymus transplantation yields only short‐lived efficacy and marginal therapeutic benefits. Benefiting from the spleen's intrinsic strengths—rapid vascular perfusion, abundant developmental factors, and resident progenitors—the intrasplenic thymic grafts achieve robust thymic regeneration and substantial T‐cell reconstitution ...

Precise Control of Charge–Structure Coupling in Polyamide Membranes for Mono‐ and Divalent Ion Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A zwitterionic copolymer, Poly(2‐methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine‐co‐2‐aminoethyl methacrylate hydrochloride) (P(MPC‐co‐AEMA)) copolymers, with tunable MPC/AEMA ratios, is grafted onto the polyamide (PA) selective layer via secondary interfacial polymerization. Balancing reactive anchoring segments (AEMA) and zwitterionic segments (MPC) regulated

accurate depth-of-field rendering using adaptive bilateral depth filtering

open access: yes, 2012
Real-time depth of field (DoF) rendering is crucial to realistic image synthesis and VR applications. This paper presents a new method to simulate the depth-of-field effects with bilateral depth filtering.
